The killer cast of Daniel Espinosa’s adaptation of spy novel “Child 44″ just got even more awesome with the increasingly ubiquitous Jason Clarke now jumping on board, according to THR. Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Paddy Considine and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are already set to star.
Hardy and Rapace play husband and wife in “Child 44″, with Hardy as a Soviet officer who becomes the target of suspicion from his own government and Rapace as his wife, who pretends to be loyal and doting but hiding secrets of her own. Clarke plays a character named Brodsky, who Hardy’s character accuses of being a traitor. Richard Price wrote the script based on Tom Rob Smith’s novel and filming is now underway in the Czech Republic.
Clarke became one of our Faces to Watch in 2013 after impressing last year in John Hillcoat’s “Lawless” and particularly Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty.” This year has already seen him in “White House Down” and “The Great Gatsby.” He’s completed work on young Lincoln biopic “The Green Blade Rises” and is currently filming sequel “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
